Community
[a : an interacting
population of various
kinds of individuals (as
species) in a common
location b: a
group of people with a
common characteristic or
interest living together
within a larger society
<a community of
retired persons> c : a group linked
by a common policy]
We believe, not only
does God want us to know
and love him, but God
also wants us to know
and love other people -
all people - regardless
of any outward condition
we place on them. We
are told to "love others
as we love ourselves"
and to "love those in
community with us as
Christ loved the
church."
So at MVCC we are
committed to TRY LOVE
first. How do we TRY
LOVE? How do we show
our love for others?
How do we live this
thing called "community?"
One of the first
ways is to be involved
in the lives of others
and to make true and
lasting friendships.
So, the best way we get
connected to others is
by making an intentional
commitment to community.
An intentional
commitment to community
means that we
are committed to having
healthy, whole, and
meaningful relationships
with other people. One
of the important things
about
MVCC is that we are all on a
spiritual journey
together. We make
this journey in groups,
not as isolated
individuals.
